Beyond the obvious: Identifying strategic priorities from Screen-Me early-stage researchers’ perspective
 
 
Ivana Kostovska from SMIT-Vrije Universiteit Brussel will discuss strategic priorities and interlinked challenges from the perspective of Screen-Me early-stage researcher in five areas: publishing, connecting with the right academic community, building an academic presence online, dissemination of research and advancing research skills. She will focus on questions such as how to enact a strategic framework and picture impact that is consistent with your research objectives, talent, skills and passion. The presentation will include a collection of resources that are particularly relevant for screen media researchers.
 
 
 
Using social network analysis to study gender inequality in screen media industries
 
 
 
In this talk, Dr Vejune Zemaityte will introduce her research into gender diversity in screen media production which focuses on the relational labour structures that foster inequality. She will discuss the intricacies of working with large, industry-born datasets and the adoption of social network analysis methods for studying creative industries. The challenges and opportunities that arise when conducting industry-facing research in close collaboration with external partners will also be explored.
